Self discover and educate yourself through this beautifully designed cervical dilation anatomy illustration.

Our cervix is located at the bottom of our uterus. Our cervix opens during cervical dilation as one goes into labour. This process helps accommodate your little ones passage from the womb into the vagina before it enters into this world.⠀

FIRST STAGE OF LABOUR – ACTIVE STAGE⠀
Once your cervix has dilated to 3-4cm and your contractions become longer, stronger, and closer together. ⠀
STAGE TWO OF LABOUR – DELIVERY OF BABY⠀
Once your cervix has dilated to 10cm. Your little one may still need sometime to make its way down the birth canal so it can enter this world.⠀

STAGE THREE OF LABOUR – DELIVERY OF PLACENTA⠀
The last and final step of labour is when you delivery your placenta. The placenta is delivered through contractions just like your little one, but the contractions are generally not as strong.⠀

Again I am always in awe of how incredible our bodies are and how perfectly everything works together. Appreciate every part of your body…even the parts you cannot see and that so many people take for granted.⠀
